Description & Analysis

The mintage of dimes at the Philadelphia Mint fell again in 1855, though this is certainly not a rare issue in overall numbers. It becomes moderately scarce in grades above VF, with the very scarce Mint State pieces typically being weakly struck in places.

Two minor doubled-die obverse varieties are known, and F-103 is a Top 100 entry.
