Description & Analysis

As might be expected from its low mintage of 866,000 pieces, the 1927-S Peace dollar is one of the rarest dates of the series in higher Mint State grades. In addition to the limited mintage, the 1927-S was plagued by poor production values, and almost all examples seen display weak striking details.
