Description & Analysis

Judd-73, Pollock-77, R.5.

A draped bust of Liberty faces left and wears a diadem. A ribbon in her hair is inscribed LIBERTY. The reverse is similar to that of the Gobrecht Dollar, although the eagle's beak is open and its neck is wider. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. The dies have medallic alignment.
