Description & Analysis

The 1842-O Large Date quarter has a relatively high mintage figure and it would seem to be a common coin, given its relative availability in lower grades. It is much scarcer than generally believed in the higher circulated grades and it is a truly a rare coin in Mint State that is regarded as a solid R-7 by specialists.
