The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
From an initial mintage of 626,100 pieces, the 1907 half eagle is one of the more available dates of the Liberty Head series. This date was the penultimate year for this long series, as Bela Lyon Pratt's Indian Head design began production in 1908. The date is available in all grades, making it a favorite among gold type collectors.
