Description & Analysis

The 1900 Liberty half eagle is popular as the first date of the millennium, from a large mintage of 1.4 million pieces. The date is not difficult to locate in Mint State but, to quote Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, 'Any U.S. gold coin in superb condition is very rare.'
