The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
Fewer than half of the 93 proof quarter eagles that the Philadelphia Mint produced in 1890 survive for the benefit of today's collectors. The coins fall between the PR 58 and PR 67 grade levels, although Gem and finer coins are elusive.
