The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.

In overall rarity, it is similar to the 1888-O, 1892-O, 1895-O and 1903-O, although for some unknown reason it is considerably more difficult to obtain in uncirculated condition than any other date of this group. Most known specimens fall in the VF-AU grade range...'
