The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
The 1858-O has become one of the more available No Motto eagles from New Orleans in higher grade as a result of the Jackson, Tennessee Hoard, and another group of coins found in Europe that entered the market in the mid-1990s. We have heard rumors of a number of choice to gem quality 1858-O eagles having been found in the Tennessee hoard, but have never seen any of these.
