The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
Gold gurus Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth note that they consider the 1910 issue 'an available date in Gem grades for this series.' The last three words of warning are key to understanding the statement, however, as pieces in MS65 are a full order of magnitude rarer than MS64 pieces, according to the current combined NGC/PCGS population data. While it is true that Gem 1910s are more available, according to Garrett-Guth, than 15 of the 24 issues in the series, it is equally true that Gems of whatever stripe are the subject of intense demand by type and date collectors alike.
