Description & Analysis

In the early part of the 19th century, Bust halves were held as cash reserves in banks along the east coast, just as Morgan dollars were held fifty years later. However, unlike the Morgan dollar, most of these coins did eventually find their way into circulation and today mint state Bust halves are a scarce and worthwhile U.S. type coin. Superb examples are very rare.
