Description & Analysis

The mintage of proof nickels continued its inexorable slide during 1915, and it's not even certain that all of the 1,050 pieces reported were actually distributed.

The quality of 1915 proofs was very high, both in terms of strike and surfaces. These are beautiful coins when found unmolested, but the rarity of such pieces accounts for their fairly low certified population.
