Description & Analysis

Among first-year Barber coinage, those issues produced at the San Francisco mint have long been recognized as more elusive than their P and O-mint counterparts. The 1892-S Dime reports an original mintage of fewer than 1 million coins (990,710). To further add to the scarcity and collectibility of this issue, David Lawrence in his Complete Guide to Barber Dimes describes several repunched date varieties.
