Description & Analysis

The surviving population of proof 1845 half dimes varies from one source to another, but the correct total seems to be somewhere from six to eight pieces. Prior to the 1980s the labeling of prooflike currency pieces as proofs was fairly prevalent, and this makes an accurate roster quite challenging.
