Description & Analysis

Judd-125, Pollock-147, R.4.

Similar in design to the famous Judd-67 gold dollar pattern from 1836; however, the date has been moved to the obverse below the cap, and the denomination within the palm frond is expressed with a large Roman numeral III. Struck in silver with a plain edge.
