The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
Jeff Garrett: This issue is very rare at the top level and one of the most difficult to locate in Gem condition. Like its Philadelphia counterpart, the 1908-D No Motto is usually found with dull luster and is softly struck. NGC has graded three coins as MS 67, but none have appeared at auction. Notable examples include the Kruthoffer and Eliasberg specimens.
