The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
Mint State examples of this heavily produced (at least by Carson City standards) issue of 208,000 pieces are normally satiny, very well struck, and show moderate to heavy abrasions. Their relative availability in grades up to MS63 makes the '91-CC a popular issue with type collectors seeking a single example from the historic Nevada Mint.
