The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
An extremely rare proof with a mintage of only 30 pieces. From that original production, it is estimated today that between 15 and 18 pieces still survive as recognizable proofs. According to Akers, 'Proofs are extremely rare and are less often seen than the more highly regarded Proofs of 1873 and 1875.'
