Description & Analysis

The number of proof dimes coined for 1834 went unrecorded, as did all proofs before the 1850s. The total known today is probably smaller than the estimates given by Walter Breen, as some of his proofs have not measured up to current interpretations. The example illustrated is JR-1, but there are unconfirmed reports of proofs for JR-6 and JR-7.
